I cut my hair for the first time in YEARS back in 2021. That’s when I got pregnant and I was very nauseous, very fatigued, and I thought it would be easier to care for my hair if it was a lot shorter. I went from having waist-length hair to this:

Then, I “neglected” my hair for 2 years. I simply didn’t do anything to it! No blow-drying or straightening (no more heat). No updo’s with elastics. No washing… as often 😝 I didn’t even cut it, so it grew back to waist length.
And my hair went from this to this:

My hair is shinier, healthier, and prettier overall! 💖 I don’t have many of the issues I had before ~ my ends are no longer dry and brittle. I have less split ends. I have more moisture from my natural oils, more volume, thicker strands, and a darker healthier color, too.
I’m very happy with the changes to my hair 😊 So if you’re trying to improve your hair, why not just leave it alone for a while? You might be surprised with the results!
Take care and God bless,

It’s great to hear! I agree that using too many chemicals, excessive heat, etc., on hair is not good. I used to dye my hair a lot when I was younger because I had grey hair and felt very insecure about it. However, when I reached the age of 20, I just stopped caring. That’s when I realized that coloring my hair actually made me grow more grey hair. Now, I have stopped coloring my hair, and I notice fewer grey hairs. ❤

I’ve been considering cutting out my hair color for a while but I’m 32 and have a lot of grays… maybe I’ll just stop and see what happens.

I see. I don’t know about others, but I feel like I get more gray hair when I am stressed. I believe genetics play a huge role in this as well. On my dad’s side of the family, everyone got gray hair at a young age and everyone started using hair color at the young age, including my sisters and my elder brother. Last week, my elder sister and I were discussing how I have fewer gray hairs now compared to when I was younger. We both agree that using hair color contributes to more gray hair. She is a hairstylist and regularly applies hair color, and she also has a lot of gray hair. By the way, I love the Bible verse. 😊

That’s interesting! I’m now getting some gray hair but I also plan on not dying it. I actually find it kind of cool 😎😊

proverbs 16:31 has been laid on my heart lately a lot.
“Gray hair is a crown of glory, it is gained in a righteous life”.

Thanks! I think the biggest change was because I stopped using heat. No more straightening for me! 😊
