Trusting God

Trusting God has been one of the most wonderful parts of my Christian faith. It has brought me so much peace. God has never failed me… and yet sometimes I still find myself forgetting to let go and trust God. I worry. I have deep seated fears that sometimes make me cry. And yet I know that I need to remind myself to trust God, and everything will be okay.

Trusting God means believing that God is good and that He has our best interests at heart. It doesn’t mean that things won’t go wrong, it means that He will be there, giving us strength when they do go wrong (Philippians 4:13). Because, let’s face it, life isn’t perfect and sometimes things do go wrong. It also means being willing to follow His guidance, even when we don’t understand it.

How Can I Trust God?

You can’t fake trust, but you can certainly learn to trust God by reading His Word. Every promise God has made to us is right there in the Bible (and God keeps his promises!). Reading the Bible is the BEST way to learn what God wants for us, what He commands us to do, and the many ways in which we can (and should) trust Him.

I personally love Romans and Philippians, but Acts is also very inspiring and uplifting to me. Reading Acts, I’m always in awe of the strength that God provided to Paul, who believed in Jesus and trusted God!

Along with reading the Bible, you can pray 😊 So simple, right? Read God’s Word, then ask Him to help you trust in Him. One of my favorite parts of the Bible is when a man tells Jesus, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:23-25). If you want to trust God, but for whatever reason you can’t, ask Him to help you to trust!

Here is a helpful article on the meaning of “I believe, help my unbelief.”

Be patient, read the Word, pray. That’s how I leave worry and fear behind and begin to trust God once more (otherwise I’d never leave the house!!) and you can too 😊

Do you trust God? Do you ever have trouble trusting God?

Take care and God bless,

  1. What a refreshing read!!! I think it can sometimes be really hard to trust God sometimes, since our earthly fears and concerns tend to take the wheel most of the time. I’m in the process of trying to learn how to trust God. 💖

  2. Hi ! Oh, we’ve been doing a Bible study on Romans and it’s been amazing! The Psalms are also my favorite because there’s so many wonderful and comforting promises that helped me when I was discouraged 🙂
