Back in 2018, I read the Bible for the first time ever, and I read ALL of it, and it changed my life. Recently, I was having a chat with my pastor, and he asked why I decided to read the Bible in the first place.
It dawned on me that my testimony is actually really quick and simple! So I’d like to share it with you today 🥰
By 2018, I had been involved in the new age for sixteen years. And yet, I felt empty and hollow. I was constantly spending money on books, courses, Tarot cards, crystals, etc. and seeing no results. I had a lot of hatred in my heart for people in my past. I was anxious and worried. I just wasn’t getting the love, peace, and security that the new age had promised me.
Sixteen years! And NO results, nothing to show for it!
I’d had it.
So one sunny day, as I was looking out of my big bedroom windows, I just said “If there’s anyone out there, I just need to know. Whoever you are, I just need to know.”
If there’s anyone out there,
I just need to know.
I didn’t think much of it after that, and one day, I simply thought, “hey, let me read the Bible.” I got a Kindle Bible for Teen Girls and started reading. Six months later, I had read from Genesis to Revelation, and I believed.
I gave my life to Christ.
Yep, that’s it! I just read the Bible and it changed me. I believed in Jesus before I could articulate how or why. It wasn’t until later that I would read books and watch videos on apologetics, which further cemented my faith. At the time, I just knew I had found what I had been looking for all those years.
I had finally found that peace that transcends all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).
After that came the IMMENSE project of decluttering my life of all the new age stuff I had bought. I threw away hundreds of books (literally hundreds!), both physical copies and Kindle. I gave away some Tarot and oracle cards, realized how bad that was, then threw away the rest (and there were many, and they had been very expensive…). Not to mention, I began the profound process of rethinking every opinion, every moral, every value I had up until that time.
Thankfully, it became easier and easier to throw away the stuff as I continued to read the Word and pray, and it also became easier to realize what my true morals and values were after knowing God’s Word.
Yes, that’s it! It will be five years in April 2023. Reading the Bible is the BEST choice I have ever made in my whole life!!! It changed every aspect of me, and everything I have today I have because of Jesus Christ my Redeemer 🥰 Everything!
Do you have any questions? Just pop them in the comments, I would love to answer any questions you may have 🥰
Thank you for reading and God bless,
✿ Lovely Panda Mom ✿

Thank you for sharing your testimony. How encouraging! Your experience reminds me of how God said that if we seek Him with all of our hearts, we will find Him. God is faithful to His Word, and you are proof of that.

Excellent testimony, Panda. This goes to show how when the Lord is ready to work on someone, He really works!
On a similar note, I was an atheist when at the age of 21 I sat down and read the entire Book of Matthew. I didn’t get saved until 7 years later, but reading through Matthew in one sitting convinced me that God was real, and that Jesus was indeed the Messiah and, of course, God the Son.
So yes, the best thing an unbeliever searching for Truth can do is read the Bible!

That’s wonderful! 🤗 Were you questioning your faith those 7 years or something else?

Actually, I didn’t have a real understanding of what it meant to be a Christian. I thought just believing the facts of what I was reading was enough. I eventually came to know that I had to “believe on the name of Jesus Christ” (Acts 16:31) to be saved.

Oh, I see. Yes, that’s an important distinction. Thanks for sharing that 😊

Thanks for sharing. Praise God that He led you out of New Age! For some “strange reason” (i.e., the Holy Spirit), I had a strong desire to start reading the Bible in my early 20s, even though reading the Bible was not a part of my Catholic upbringing. “One thing led to another” (i.e., the Holy Spirit) and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior by faith alone when I was 27.

Thanks for your explanation of how you came to faith. Was there any particular part of the bible that affected you the most and really cemented your conversion? For me, the book of Romans was and is amazing. Blessings and peace to you and thank you for sharing.

You know, my pastor asked me the same thing, but I had no one particular book or experience to point to (although the Book of Romans is one of my favorites too!!❤️) It was the entirety of the Bible that changed me, just reading through all of it. Thanks for reading my testimony and commenting 😊 Blessings and peace to you as well! 🥰✨
